Elizabeth Price
President Elizabeth Price has worked in Senior Care in Stanislaus County 25 years. She was a founding member and past treasurer of our local Marketing & Administrators organization. She was the primary event planner & fundraiser for Progress Valley from 1999 until 2005. She is a member of the California Coalition for Compassionate Care. She is currently on the board of the Stanislaus POLST Coalition. In 2005 she joined the Administrative team at Bethel Retirement. She currently is the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Bethel Retirement Community. Jeri Johnson
Vice President Before retiring Ms. Johnson was a Human Resource Executive involved in all aspects of human resource management. Training and development responsibilities summoned her to Mexico, Canada, Europe, South Africa, and extensive travel within the United States. She holds a Masters Degree from the University of San Francisco, in addition to SPHR certification. She has a Lifetime Community College Instructor’s Credential. Ms. Johnson was previously involved with AARP through the Community Presence Team (CPT). This is her second term on the Commission on Aging where she holds the office of 1st Vice President. She is also very active in her church. Billie Scott
Secretary Billie Scott has been working in the senior community since 1995. Her dedications to senior issues make her a wonderful addition to our Foundation Board. She serves various volunteer organizations in Northern California including Relay for life. She was awarded the 2011 Excellence in Safety award for her tireless work to improve safety in senior communities. She has been married for 10 years and has 2 children. She currently resides in Oakdale and is the Director of Community Relations at Bethel Retirement. Margie Palomino
Area Agency on Aging Liaison Director, Area Agency on Aging Margie Palomino is the Director of the Department of Aging & Veterans Services. She obtained a BA degree in Accounting from the University of Texas El Paso in 1984. She and her husband moved to Turlock, CA in 1985 She started working for Stanislaus County in 1986. She held various fiscal positions in the Treas./Tax Collector’s Office, Auditor’s Office, and Welfare Department. In 1992 she was hired as the Fiscal Officer for the Area Agency on Aging (AAA). The AAA and the Veterans Service Office merged in 1994. The Department has grown from 3 to 19 staff members in the last 14 years. Margie was appointed Director for the Department in 1999. In addition to her involvement in various community-based organizations that provide services for seniors and veterans, she is also an active member of the United Way Board of Directors, the Stanislaus Elder Abuse Prevention Alliance (SEAPA), the Hispanic Leadership Council and Latino Community Roundtable, and the Secretary of the California Association of Area Agency on Aging (C4A). Bipin Surti
Treasurer Bipin Surti is a Fiscal Officer at Stanislaus County Area Agency on Aging. Mr. Surti joined the Area Agency on Aging in 1998 with over 14 years of experience in Auditing, Accounting, Budgeting, and Financial Management Systems. Prior to the Area Agency on Aging, he held several positions including Chief Financial Officer, Internal Auditor, Auditor Consultant, Chief Accountant, Controller, and Assistant Director of Finance at several private and non-profit organizations. He also served as a financial business consultant to several private and non-profit organizations. Mr. Surti holds a BA degree in Accounting from South Gujarat University, India. Mr. Surti is serving as a president of Kshatriya Mitra Mandal of California Inc. (A non-profit organization helping preserve the culture and the tradition of Gujarati Kshatriya Indian Community). Previously, he served on the Board for the Center for Senior Employment Inc. (A non-profit organization helping seniors gain meaningful employment). Mickey Peabody
Board Member Mickey Peabody has been a resident of Stanislaus County for 43 years, and has a background working in Behavioral Health. She has unselfishly donated many years of service and leadership to the City of Oakdale, and to the community of Stanislaus County. Her history of community involvement includes serving 6 years on the Oakdale City Council and as Mayor Pro Tem for 2 years, and is currently serving as the Senior Senator for Stanislaus County on the California Senior Legislature. Mickey was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce in 2006 for her tireless efforts on behalf of others. In addition to the numerous awards that she has received, she was named the ‘1997 Outstanding Woman of the Year’ by the Stanislaus County Commission for Woman, and the ‘2006 Outstanding Senior Citizen for Stanislaus County – District 1’ by the Stanislaus County Commission on Aging. Robin Conley R.N.
Board Member Robin Conley R.N. is the current owner and CEO of Provident Care, Inc., a company that provides home care, facility placement and escorted wheelchair transportation to the seniors of our community. Her grandmother and mother received home care from Provident Care. The impact of that experience led her to purchase the company and dedicate the remainder of her career to serving seniors. She has spent the majority of her 20 year nursing career providing nursing services to patients in their home. She is the former Director of Patient Care Services for Crescent Healthcare. She is a former member of The Flying Samaritans, a volunteer organization, who provide healthcare to the underserved of San Felipe, Mexico. She is honored to be a part of the important work done by the Stanislaus Senior Foundation. Grant Swearingen
Board Member Grant Swearingen has worked in retail management for the last 17 years. In 2001 Grant began working as a Store Manager for the Walgreen's company in Modesto. He grew up in Modesto and graduated from Thomas Downey High School, Modesto Junior College and CSU Chico. He previously served on the Modesto Sister Cities Board of Directors from 2008 to 2011. Grant joined the Stanislaus Senior Foundation Board of Directors in 2012 and is honored to have the opportunity to give back to his community. Grant, his wife and two sons make their home in Modesto. Cesar Cortez
Board Member Responsible for the Sales Department of Community Hospice, Mr. Cortez oversees all sales operations and the Community Hospice Sales Department. Previously, Mr. Cortez spent eight years as an Account Manager for Community Hospice and before that worked 2 years at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, NV. He also assisted with the expansion of our service area throughout San Joaquin County. Mr. Cortez received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. Jocelyn Raese
Board Member With over a decade of experience in working with seniors in Stanislaus County, Jocelyn has experience in assisted living, home care, and hospice settings. While assisting seniors and their loved ones during times of need, she has gained knowledge and experience needed to become an advocate and a valuable resource for seniors in our community. Her passion in life is working closely with seniors and their families. |
